~ APRIL 2024 ELK OF THE MONTH ~
Whether helping at an event, cleaning around the lodge, or making points
during cards, you’ll never miss Laurie Papale’s infectious demeanor. As a
generational member, the moment she joined the Elks, Laurie can been
seen on a regular basis in both a social and volunteer manner. Laurie is
an active member in our community, supporting a number of charitable
organizations; not to mention her role as a Unified Sports Partner through
CT Special Olympics. She helps stuff new membership cards, participates
in a multitude of lodge events, hustles at our Celebrate tent, and can be
found at the Lodge on Wednesdays for Setback. You certainly won’t hear
this amazing person called “Lazy Laurie.” Those are just some of the
reasons why I’m so excited to announce Laurie Papale, not only
April 2024 Elk of the Month, but also our incoming Inner Guard!

~ MARCH 2024 ELK OF THE MONTH ~
Please join me in Congratulating

Brian Stober as our
Elk of the Month for March.
Brian has been a proactive member since he joined 8 years ago. Most
recently he has donated his time to cooking for our First Responders
Night, helping at Socials and the Chalkboard Menu. As an active member
of our House Committee, he works closely with our Trustees on projects
that will enhance our Lodge. He is the next generation for our lodge, and
we love seeing him supporting events with his wife, Nicole and their
children. We are fortunate to have him as an Elk at Wallingford #1365.

~ FEBRUARY 2024 ELK OF THE MONTH ~

Please join me in congratulating Stanley Goode as our February Elk of
the Month. Stanley is a Marine Corp Veteran and has been a member of
our lodge for 24 years. He is key to easing the responsibilities of the
secretary by his daily visits to our post office, picking up items and
making deliveries to our lodge. He has been helping with shopping for
our Officers Breakfast and has volunteered his time to cook each
month. There are many things that are done for our lodge that no one
realizes and I wanted to be sure to thank Stanley and recognize him for
all he does as a proud Elk.

~ JANUARY 2024 ELK OF THE MONTH ~
Please join me in Congratulating Bonnie Server as January's Elk of the
Month. Bonnie has been a member for 5 years and tried her hand at different
volunteering opportunities. She found her niche in being the chairperson for the
coat drive. Bonnie came in every week during the drive to sort coats and
distribute to various contacts in the area. This year’s coat drive was a success
with over 180 coats, including various hats, mittens & gloves which were
collected and distributed. This year donations were sent in support of our
Veterans to the First Company Governor's Foot Guard in Hartford contributing to
their “One Warm Coat” drive. Donations were also provided to Masters Manna, the
Rock Church & St. Vincent DePaul. We thank you Bonnie for taking this on each
year and appreciate you getting involved and doing so much behind the scenes.

~ DECEMBER 2023 ELK OF THE MONTH ~
Please join me in congratulating Anne Marie Ortolan as our December Elk
of the Month. Anne Marie has been an instrumental part of the Soccer
Shoot on both the local and state level. She has a gift of getting members
involved with many of our projects and has recently taken on Chairman of
Elks Share the Holidays as Richard Gee passes the torch but continues
to stay involved. If anyone has attended a meeting with initiation, then
you have undoubtedly been amazed by how eloquently she has delivered
her lines. We appreciate all the great things she does for our community
and the Wallingford Elks Lodge #1365.
Thank you, Anne Marie, for all you do.

~ NOVEMBER 2023 ELK OF THE MONTH ~
Please join me is congratulating our November Elk of the Month, Rich Foley. Rich
put in a lot of work during the month of October. He is always working behind the
scenes fixing something and keeping the lodge in good shape. He was key to our
success along with all our volunteers to having a great Celebrate Wallingford
weekend. There is so much work that goes into the planning, setup and clean-up
for this weekend and we could not thank Rich enough for all his running around for
that weekend. The shopping alone was a full time job. He is key to many
successful events by cooking in the kitchen and his family are all committee
members for the children's events. They are running the Halloween party and
Truck or Treat as well as the Children's Christmas Party. Thank you Rich for you
and thanks to his wife Tracey for her endless patience.

Congratulations to our AUGUST 2023 Elk of the Month: Please join me
in congratulating our August Elk of the month Cindy Tangredi. Cindy became a
member along with a group of other spouses who all decided that they wanted their
voices to be heard and to give them an opportunity to vote on lodge
business. Since that time Cindy has taken on the position of Drug Awareness
Chairperson. Her work on the program and for the lodge was recognized at our
CT State Convention this year. Cindy was awarded the Starfish Program
award. This is a very distinguished award that recognizes her considerable

Jim Gagliardi.

Jim has been a member of the Wallingford lodge for 35
years. Jim has taken on the task of running the Wednesday Night Set

made sure that donations to the Elk National Foundation, the Scholarship
Fund, and items as needed for the lodge were taken care. That is in
addition to donations to local organizations. He is extremely organized
and always a gentleman. Thank you for your commitment to OUR
lodge. We certainly appreciate all you do.

~ MAY 2023 ELK OF THE MONTH ~
Congratulations to our MAY 2023 Elk of the Month:

Maryanne Slain

Maryanne has been a member of the Wallingford Lodge for 16 years & sponsored
her daughter Brittney 10 years ago. Maryanne's father Martin & brother Michael
were both members of the Haverstraw, NY Elks lodge #877 until their passing. Fun
fact to note is that Haverstraw Elks to date does not have female members.
Maryanne's gets great enjoyment when she visits there and proudly displays her
membership card and enjoys the beautiful view this lodge has to offer. She is a
great reflection of what it means to be an Elk. Maryanne makes herself available to
help at many events. She is a steady in the Thursday night menu kitchen, Read
Across the World, Setups and is always willing to help at the lodge events in many
ways. She recently brought in a large group that had a great time playing Bunco &
