Wallingford Elks Lodge - Painting by Norma J. O'Keefe

Members All,

Even though summer is somewhat quiet around the lodge, we
continue with planning events which I hope you will enjoy. Once
again, we have Steak Night on the 5th of August, starting at 6:00
PM so bring your appetite, relax and enjoy the evening.
In addition, our annual "End of Summer Tradition", Tent Week
has a different menu filled with delicious foods for every night.
In between your summer trips you may want to stop, unwind and
have a nice meal, cocktail and socialize with your lodge brothers
and sisters. Besides, you will not have to cook! We can only hope
that Mother Nature will be good to us this week.
Last month, I attended the national convention in Reno, Nevada
and it was truly a great experience. It is good to be back home
after a wonderful, whirlwind week at the Grand Lodge Convention.
The convention is very inspiring and I was fortunate enough to
attend many workshops which were a great learning experience
for me. I am excited to put these new skills to work to increase our
lodge's success.
The 4th of July picnic was an awesome event. Mike Cooney, Tony
Cassella, along with the Junk Yard Crew put out a great meal.
I commend all who worked tirelessly to create an enjoyable event
for all of us to attend.
We are always looking for new ideas for socials and events so
please see one of the Officers, House Committee member or
Please keep in mind that our Lodge meetings are the 1st Tuesday
of each month as well as the 3rd Tuesday with the exception of
July and August we only have one meeting. I encourage every
member to attend meetings to have a voice in the Lodge.
Please invite your friends and/or family to become a member.
Our next new member initiation will be in September.
Remember, my door will always be open.
God Bless our members - and -
God Bless the United States of America.
