Wallingford Elks Lodge - Painting by Norma J. O'Keefe

Members All,

I sincerely hope you all had a happy Thanksgiving. It is my favorite time of year, as it is filled with love, hope, family and friends and a visit from relatives near and far. As for myself and my family, we are looking forward to a visit from our favorite Marine: Lance Corporal Jason Gade! In November we held our annual Veteran’s Day breakfast, which was a remarkable success thanks to George Gilhuly and the Lyman Hall High School Powder Puff Girls. The girls cheered the vets as they entered and served the breakfasts. They sure were an asset to all, and the veterans were appreciative to have such an astounding reception! I’m very pleased to say that once again our Holiday Food Drive has been very successful. Our committee has collected and purchased a phenomenal amount of food, thanks to the generosity of so many. Not only did we receive food donations, but a sizable amount of cash donations as well. Congratulations to Richard Gee, and the committee for all their challenging work. The weather is turning colder, and the holidays are approaching, so be sure to stop by the lounge and as you enjoy the camaraderie and maybe cheer on your favorite team, check out the upcoming events. As the chill sets in, you can enjoy the roaring fire in our fireside lounge. Happy Holidays to you and your family, on behalf of Stan, myself and the officers of the lodge. May the New Year bring joy and comfort to all. Remember, my door will always be open. God Bless our members - and - God Bless the United States of America.
